POST-STUDY WORK VISA IN GERMANY
- After completing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a recognized German university, international students can apply for an 18-month residence permit to look for a job relevant to their field of study.
- During this period, graduates can work in any job (including unrelated fields) to support themselves while searching for a qualified position.
- Once a relevant full-time job is found, graduates can apply for EU Blue Card (if salary meets the threshold), or German Employment Residence Permit.
Pathway to Permanent Residency (PR) in Germany
EU Blue Card Holders
- Can apply for Permanent Residency after 33 months of employment in Germany.
- This period is reduced to 21 months if the person has B1 level proficiency in the German language.
Non-Blue Card Residents
- International graduates working in Germany with a regular employment visa can apply for PR after 5 years of legal residence and employment.
Requirements for PR
- Proof of stable income and employment.
